Not only did McNichol play baseball but he was actively involved in youth basketball and football.
Through his solid family foundation and support, McNichol was able to transition form organized youth sports to high school varsity baseball.
McNichol's high school team went on to win the Virginia State Championship title building a camaraderie that still thrives today.
Gathering interest from colleges throughout the United States, he was able to choose a scholarship offer from one of several interested Division One schools, ultimately choosing an in-state college to remain close to his family.

Through practice and hard work pitching for the James Madison Dukes, McNichol was drafted 2nd round, 34th selection overall by the Chicago Cubs, just after Kerry Wood.
Now retired from baseball with over a decade of professional experience, McNichol has transitioned into the roles of successful business professional and family man.
Contributing to the coaching of his own son's baseball teams and providing support through the philanthropic community, McNichol is enjoying the successes of his hard work and positive outlook!
